In Dawson City Alaska, you can get a very unusual drink. If you are brave you can even drink it. The drink? A whiskey with a withered human toe in it.
That this happened in Alaska shouldn’t be surprising. The people are different here. The story goes that a local had to have a toe amputated due to frostbite, and being sentimental, he kept the toe in alcohol. This was later found by a Dawson resident who thought it would be fun to dare people at the local bar to drink something with the toe in it. And thus a challenge was born, although they’ve been through several toes since them (people swallow them sometimes, blech).
So, if you are looking for a truly weird drink, you can get one in Dawson City, Alaska. The toe is pretty ugly, so if you want to see it just do a google search, but here are some other Dawson City attractions., including some very battered buildings, a camera obscura, and the Klondike Spirit paddleboat.
