Tips for traveling with little to no 5G/4G service

Google can be very helpful when you travel without cell service (or you have very little data allowance so you have to be careful about what you allow to transfer).

Before going on a trip you should set up google translate and download the language you need to “read”

This will drastically reduce your data usage.

Another way to cut back data usage is to download google map data into your phone.

Within the app, show the area on the map where you are going.  Then click on the menu and select Offline Maps, then SELECT YOUR OWN MAP.

This will download the info from that area into your phone, allowing you to see where you are via GPS and not using data.

Do note that sometimes the translations are literal and don’t really help – like with this gelato flavor.
