Animals at night (Singapore)
On the far north side of Singapore is the Night Zoo (which has in the same location as the zoo that is open during the day, but it closes down in between and you have to buy separate tickets for day and night time entrance).
The Night Zoo has different shows and information sessions. The night I went to the Creatures of the Night show they had a snake-phobic woman volunteer to hold an unspecified animal, which turned out to be a very large snake. You can see her in the middle of this pic touching the snake as minimally as she can.
There is a brief fire dance you can see at the entrance. Between that, the show, the tram ride, and walking around the zoo path at your leisure (there are staff around to help if you get lost and keep you from being on the tram pathway for that tour as the tram and the walkers are on separate crossing paths) you can spend a couple of hours here, depending on how committed you are to actually see the animals in the dark. To see all the animals you have to do both the walking and the tram routes. Both are interesting as the animals can be hard to spot in the dark. Pictures are nearly impossible as no flash is allowed for obvious reasons.
The above picture shows one of my favorite parts of the night animal show. They had trained otters to sort specific garbage into different recycling bins based on material. Singapore is very into recycling and ecology so this was the perfect display for this location.
