Random packing tips

A few tips that help you pack better:

• For wheeled bags (2 or 4 wheels): Put the heaviest things in your suitcase near the wheels, this makes managing your bag easier and makes it less likely to tip over.
• Put a piece of saran wrap or a ziplock bag or such on top of bottles before screwing lids on – prevents bottles from leaking in your bag by accidentally being opened.
• Have a few ziplock bags with you – they have many uses.
• Fill all the spaces in your bag.  E.g., put socks in shoes, pack items around packing cubes to fill the spaces.  Don’t take air with you if you don’t have to. 🙂
•  Roll clothes and use packing cubes.  This helps you organize and makes it much easier if TSA goes through your bag(s).
• Plan things that you can do as backups if the weather is bad where you are.
• Bring a sheet protector or two with you.  These are great for holding maps you reference a lot and keeping things from getting wet.
