Konoko Falls fail (Jamaica)
At Konoko Falls we were very disappointed.
We paid and were put in a tour group that went through the garden and “zoo” ( mostly birds, a few monkeys and a couple of snakes), and only saw the top of the waterfall in passing, and then were told we were going back to the parking lot.
We said we wanted to see the falls from somewhere and then were told our tour didn’t do that, although no one had mentioned this before. While there was no sign indicating this, there were 2 different tours, one of the falls, and one of the “zoo” and garden. It didn’t occur to us that we’d have to point out we wanted to go to the falls. The falls are 600 feet tall, and all we got to see was the water dropping off the top – as shown above.
The entrance fee paid for both, but we didn’t have time at that point because we’d already spent over an hour seeing mainly non-native plants and animals that we predominantly had seen many times before and really had no interest in (roses, ginger, bird of paradise, parrots, parakeets, pigeons, snakes, turtles, koi ponds).
The park/zoo had little of any real interest. I didn’t even take many pictures.
The entry cost is $20 each so we wasted a significant amount of time and money at the site. So if you go, make sure to specify what you are interested in, if you don’t have 2 hours or more.
