Humayun’s tomb (New Delhi, India)
While the most famous tomb complex in India is the Taj Mahal, there are many others that are worth seeing. Humayun’s tomb in New Delhi is one of these. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was built for the second Mughal emperor and was an inspiration for the Taj (which was built by his great-grandson).
Here, the colors are darker with red sandstone and white marble. The expansive mosaics that are the hallmark of the Taj are not here, but architectural details are still amazing.
There are dogs all over the place here, so if you are afraid of them keep your eyes peeled. They mostly seem to keep to themselves luckily.
