Losing my wallet in Cartagena (Colombia)
So, a lot of the things I tell you about on my page are things I’ve learned over the years. And sometimes I don’t follow my own advice.
When I went to Cartagena, I broke one of my rules. I put both credit cards in my wallet. And then proceeded to have my wallet fall out of my pocket.
Luckily, I was at a paid tourist attraction when it happened. So after having a minor panic attack when I noticed it was missing. Then I thought about it, and it had to have fallen out recently. Most likely it had happened when I picked my bags off the ground after taking a picture or such.
So I went back retracing my path looking on the ground for my wallet. There weren’t a ton of people at the fort top like I was, so I figured it was likely still on the ground. It wasn’t, but a couple of women saw me walking around looking at the ground, and asked if I was missing something.
Of course, they had found it and were going to bring it to the ticket desk on the way out. I was reunited with my wallet, and then proceeded on my way after thanking them profusely.
And I vowed to never again keep both credit cards in my wallet.
