Door knockers of Cartagena, Colombia – photolog
Cartagena is known for its decorative door-knockers. They were originally used to indicate the status or occupation of the household members. Sea creatures were on the doors of those who made their living off the sea, hands for clergy, lizards for the upper class, etc. I’ve put many photos here that I took around town.
