Tirta Empul – a fresh-water spring water temple in Bali
Pura Turta Empul is a water temple in Bali with beautiful grounds. It is surrounding a fresh water spring.
Tirta Empul Temple was founded around a large water spring over 1000 years ago. The bath area has 2 sections, each with 15 “showers” where sacrifices are placed before bathing.
The grounds have other worship spaces as well as the pool the spring empties into and flowers and trees.
If you want to go in the spring you pay to borrow a special wrap to wear in the water. If you just want to see the spring, baths, and grounds, they freely lend you a sarong for that when you enter.
