Bali – so much to do and see
Bali is a wonderful destination to visit. Somehow, I thought it was mostly a place people went to hang out at beaches, but it is so much more than that. We had planned most of a week there thinking it would be a good intro to the island and found we wanted to spend at least 2 weeks to see even most of what we were interested in seeing.
Why is Bali so wonderful? Because of the variety of things to do. Even for those who don’t want to spend time in the sun, like me.
There are many temples and cultural centers to visit. For a few examples, temples like Pura Tana Lot and Uluwatu. And impressive cultural landmarks like GWK.
The food and drink options are endless. There are restaurants with beautiful grounds and even treehouses you can eat in. There are wonderful spas. You can even taste-test civet poop coffee, and see how it’s made. Even meet the civets (from a safe distance). Not to be missed, visiting a warung to eat with the locals is a really cheap and tasty experience.
There is natural beauty in the plants and animals and man-made beauty in the rice terraces. For the Instagram set, check out Bali Swings.
