As would be expected in such a beautiful city, the markets in Barcelona are a feast for the eyes. Make sure to visit the Boqueria Market which dates back to at least the early 1200s. The market now has large numbers of grocers, fishmonger, meat sellers, cafes, candy shops, and more. Go early for less crowds.
