Chinese Jade Factory – a forced diversion in China

Display in the sales area

If you go on any tour while you are in China, you are nearly guaranteed to go to a Jade Factory or a Tea Ceremony (conveniently in a tea shop), or both.

Both are interesting, the first time. But if you take multiple tours you will likely be subjected to multiples of each demonstration.

here is more about the tea ceremony at this link.

At the Jade factories, you’ll see a short display on how it is carved and then be led into a large showroom with jade works from about $5 to several thousands of dollars (at least) to buy. I found watching the workers to be fascinating. And if they are making something that you like, you can probably find one inside to buy.
