Things to take on any international flight

Here’s just a short post that can help you decide what has to stay with you on an international flight if you are checking your bags.

  • A pen – for filling out customs forms
  • A shawl/blanket
  • Hand sanitizer and wipes – click here to see more about staying healthy on the plane
  • at least one if not two changes of clothes (in case your luggage is delayed or lost)
  • powerbank to charge your phone/ebook
  • charged phone/laptop/ebook
  • reusable water bottle (stay hydrated)
  • socks or slippers to keep your feet comfortable and clean
  • moisturizer, tissues, lip balm, etc
  • some food you like (granola bars, protein bars)
  • toothbrush/floss
  • comfortable clothing

  • Good morning! Your list sounds like mine. I also carry a travel sized deodorant and tylenol. I have found a pashmina works great for a light blanket, shoulder covering, and in some cases a head covering. If you’re ever in the DC area let me know!

    • I like the suggestion of deodorant. I didn’t think to point that out, as it’s just in my toiletry bag that is with me, but I think I should add a note about that.
      I love DC. So many great museums!
